Companies House scrap proposals to delete company records
09 December 2016

Proposal for Companies House to delete all company records six years after a company was dissolved have been scrapped, even before the promised consultation has taken place.

The decision was put through in a written Commons answer two weeks ago from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy  (BEIS).

The proposal last August was widely criticised as the only beneficiaries of a wholesale deletion would be fraudsters who repeatedly open and close businesses in order to rook the public.
